Project Overview

The AHAD Residence in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar, is a modern residential project where structural integrity and design precision were paramount. As the Structural Engineer, my primary role was to ensure the building’s structural safety, functionality, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. The project involved advanced modeling, detailed structural design, and meticulous planning to achieve the desired outcome.

My Responsibilities

1. Structural Modeling and Analysis

• Conducted structural modeling and analysis using ETABS to evaluate load distributions, stability, and safety factors.

• Performed detailed simulations to identify potential structural challenges and proposed efficient solutions.

  
  

2. Structural Design

• Designed all structural components of the building, including:

  • Footings: Ensured proper load transfer to the soil with accurate reinforcement detailing.

  • Short Columns: Developed column designs to support building loads and maintain height constraints.

  • Grade Beams: Provided connectivity between columns for enhanced structural stability.

  • Slabs: Designed slabs to accommodate load requirements and minimize deflection.

  • Floor Columns: Calculated reinforcements for floor-level columns to support vertical loads.

• Prepared all structural drawings with precision and clarity to guide the construction team.

  
  

3. Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ)

• Created a comprehensive BOQ to estimate material requirements and associated costs accurately.

• Drafted MOQ for procurement planning to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.

  
  

4. Coordination and Execution

• Collaborated closely with architects, contractors, and site engineers to align structural designs with architectural plans.

• Provided on-site support during critical phases of construction to address any structural queries or modifications.

• Conducted regular site visits to monitor compliance with design specifications and construction quality.

  
  

5. Quality Assurance and Problem Solving

• Ensured the use of high-quality materials by verifying specifications against BOQ and design requirements.
