Abhishekh Singha

This is an “inchao”, traditional Manipuri house. It is not a mere house rather it’s a sacred architecture we consider as a temple. From ages there has been a certain building pattern rooted into the concept of spirituality which our community practices while designing an “inchao”, which I want to share with the world.

I would like to share that my first impression of building structures emerged from this very house pattern and the cultural significance “inchao” holds use to fascinate me since childhood. Bishnupriya Manipuris believes that “inchao” is no less than a temple where people coincide with their ancestors whose blessing we seek for a prosperous life. The tradition has been in practice due to the logical and scientific basis on which the houses are being constructed.

Sreemangal Film Society

Since co-founding the Sreemangal Film Society in 2019, I have been passionately dedicated to promoting the art of cinema from our small town in Bangladesh. Through creativity, leadership, and community engagement, I have contributed to shaping the society's mission of fostering a love for films and using them as a tool for cultural and social impact.

Pioneering Filmmaking Efforts

I have created several short films using just a mobile phone, driven by a passion for storytelling and innovation. These films have received prestigious awards, including accolades from BRAC University, the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and other notable institutions.

Leadership in Film Awareness

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I organized and hosted Cinematalk, a virtual event that brought together renowned filmmakers and cultural icons. Esteemed participants included Indian filmmaker Ankit Bagchi, Bangladeshi director Amitav Reza, and fashion icon Bibi Russell. This initiative successfully connected audiences with industry leaders and celebrated the art of filmmaking.

Community Outreach through Film

I have worked tirelessly to raise awareness by organizing film screenings in schools and colleges, using cinema to educate and inspire the next generation on important societal issues. Through my ongoing efforts, I aim to continue promoting cinema as a powerful medium for cultural enrichment and social change. Being part of the Sreemangal Film Society since 2019 has been an incredibly fulfilling journey, and I remain committed to its growth and impact.
